synopsis

A young Van Doo, Pvt. Piquette, on his first tour of duty in Afghanistan, joins Sgt. Kinsella and Pvt. Donaldson on the trip home from FOB Rochleau to KAF. He takes Manson's gunner position in LAV turret. They're almost home when a civilian vehicle appears to take a run at them. Piquette fires, resulting in civilian deaths. An investigation is launched: did Piquette follow standard operating procedures? While Sgt. Kinsella tries to decide whether or not to protect him as the investigation heats up, and risk her own integrity in the process, no one realizes that the young soldier at the heart of the controversy is not faring at all well.
